What
Is Normal Delivery?
Normal
Delivery is a term, which is used for the completely natural birth of a baby,
without any medical intervention.
Stages
of Normal Delivery
FIRST
STAGE:
- Early Labor: Early labor is when the
contractions start happening every 3-5 minutes, and it is necessary to
inform the doctor so that they can help in the case of an emergency.
- Active Labor: In this the contractions
become frequent, and each contraction lasts for up to one minute and the
cervix dilates up to 7 cm. In this, the mother should be transferred to
the hospital.
- Transition Phase: It is a painful
state, as the cervix dilates up to 10 cm, and the contractions become
stronger and the interval of each contraction is decreased to 2-3
minutes.
SECOND
STAGE
Pushing
& Birth: It is after the cervix dilates to the fullest, and the
intense frequency of contraction helps in pushing the baby. With every
contraction, the mother has to push down the baby and it comes along with a lot
of pain around the vaginal opening.
THIRD
STAGE
In
other words, it is known as afterbirth! In this, the entire placenta is pushed
out of the vaginal canal.
